Free from labels and opinions
God wants us free from labels and opinions that others try to place on us.
It can be devastating when people name us according to our most obvious challenge or weakness.
God names us not according to our challenge or weakness or sin but according to His Grace and kindness towards us, and according to His purpose for us.
God also wants us to stop speaking negatively about ourselves. The word 'confession' in the New Testament can literally means 'saying the same thing as'. Jesus wants us to say the same thing about ourselves and others that He would say
Choose to accept yourself.
You did not make yourself, God did, so get out of the habit of belittling, or criticising yourself by deciding to accept your worth in God's eyes. He gave His very best for you in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:10 states: 'We are God’s workmanship' – we are His work of art, His poem, His masterpiece! Out of all His creation He is most devoted to us! Psalm 8:4 declares that God is ever mindful of us. His mind is full of us!
By keeping a focus on God's love for you, and studying His true nature in Christ in the Scriptures, revealed in the New Testament and concealed in the Old Testament, you become progressively more enlightened about your identity in Him and His identity in you and in others. Consequently, negatively labelling yourself and others will be a thing of the past.
